Pork was considered unclean in the Old Testament. Jesus never ate pork. He did not tell others to eat it. Peter as the senior apostle received revelation telling him that it was acceptable to discard the kosher laws. He also received instructions regarding circumcision and hospitality to gentiles
Jesus declared all foods clean.
He said whatever we put in to our mouth doesn’t make us unclean because it passes through our digestive system and out of our bodies, but what comes out of our mouth makes us unclean….
Because what comes out of our mouths are the thoughts of our heart.. lies, hatred, deceit, lust, deceptions… these make us unclean.

Pork is not Kosher or Halal. Jesus was apparently a foodie.
There are theories in anthropology that one of the reasons why Pigs were considered unclean is that they were not a good thing for nomadic peoples to herd. They dont’ really herd well, and need to be penned in or they run off, etc. Whereas goats, horses, cattle herd well.
People thing that’s it cos pigs root in poo, but if you give a pig a pool of water in his pen, he’ll go to that before he’ll cover himself in mud and feces to stay cool.

Most Christians believe that Jesus cancelled the old laws, and made it okay to eat pork. They say that it was unclean before due to a lack of proper refrigeration, etc., and that it’s fine now.
Jews also follow the part in the Old Testament where it says that shellfish are an "abomination." So no shrimp, oysters, clams, or even lobster for Jews. Depending on how deeply they observe the "kosher" laws, anyway.

Judaism – pork is always unfit to the majority of Jews. Reform Jews determine individually what restrictions are valid in modern times and some do eat pork but not many of the Jews I know do. There is a swing back from very liberal interpretations of kashrut among Reform and other observances towards a more conservative belief and practice.

It is true, the original teaching of Judaism forbids it, but a Christian still reads the WHOLE Bible, not just parts of it! I believe that the OT food laws are still binding, because they relate to something we still do today – eat!
I am a Christian and I don’t eat pork specifically BECAUSE it is forbidden in the Bible. Those who would say that ‘we don’t have to follow God’s laws anymore" are called "antinomians", and they spread a false gospel.
The only ordinances that Jesus nailed to the cross were the rules about sacrificing animals, and keeping yearly sabbaths, which all pointed forward to Christ. Now that Christ had come, they were no longer necessary.
The Levitical health laws, however, are good rules to follow for all people for all time. Pigs have ALWAYS been unclean; they have never changed. They’re just as unfit for human consumption today as they were 2,000 years ago. They contain trichina larva, carcinogens, and other toxins, because they are "nature’s garbage collectors". That’s why God designed them as omnivores to clean up after rotting carcasses and debris. What they eat goes into their flesh. So when you eat them, you are eating garbage. Same goes for shellfish – they are the "garbage collectors" at the bottom of the ocean.
God gave some basic rules – "Don’t eat predators or scavengers." You would think that would be a no-brainer, but some people just don’t get it.
And for those who say "they just didn’t know they had to cook it longer" – no amount of cooking will remove the carcinogens and toxins! Also, the fact that I’d be eating dead worms rather than live worms doesn’t make me feel any better.
Also, many Christians like to quote "Peter’s dream", which is frequently misinterpreted to mean that God "cleansed" all unclean foods (so I guess now it’s OK to eat skunks? I never hear anyone complain about not being able to eat a skunk!), but they fail to read on – Peter gives the meaning of the dream later – that God wanted Peter to "call no MAN unclean" – not "PIG"! God wanted Peter to take the Gospel to the Gentiles, which the Jews would not associate with because they were considered "unclean". It had nothing to do with cleansing skunks.

Kosher animals are herbivores that have split hooves and chew their cud. This includes cows, goats, sheep, bison…
Pigs on the other hand have split hooves but do not chew their cud which makes them non-kosher. (The Torah says that they are the only animal like this and until this day, no one has ever found another animal with this contrast) The only reason that pork is considered worse than say horse meat or such is because pigs seem to stick their split hooves out in front of them as if they are trying to pretend that they are kosher.
Orthodox Jews are Jews who observe the Torah Laws, so they clearly don’t eat pork. But many Jews, regardless of affiliation, don’t eat pork or other pig products, even if they eat other non-kosher meat.
