The Wonder and Beauty of Teaching Physics
Walter Lewin, professor of physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, sheds light on everyday phenomena such as rainbows and what makes the sky blue. Watch Lewin create a rainbow right in the lecture hall and other exciting demonstrations in this engaging and creative discussion of physics that sheds what lies beneath the everyday wonders of our world.

also read F.A. Hayek’s Nobel banquest speech. he wasn’t too fond of the whole idea of giving away awards for things that should be taken so seriously. It allows politics to creep into science & other subjects.

Cool, cool. Thanks for the input!
i’d say you are in …
i’d say you are in a good spot, but there are a few thousand kids with the same grades as you, I think you must prove you have something unique, something about you that shows imperfection

Listen to Richard …
Listen to Richard Feynman´s thoughts about the
Nobel prize … it did not impress him very much.
Neither did he care too much about the people
involved. He was interested in his work not the
glamour or the fame. Read up on it in his books
and see the interviews on youtube.
Feynman forever.

‘Cambridge’ refers to a City in Massachusetts, where the MIT is located.
“I learned that 17 …
“I learned that 17 Caltech alumni have won the Nobel prize, versus 25 from MIT. You might think the advantage here goes to MIT, but their student body is 5 times larger! Most people are shocked to learn that Caltech’s graduating class is only about 200 students. On a per-capita basis, I believe Caltech produces more science Nobel prizes than any other school. Keep in mind that about half of Caltech undergrads major in engineering or computer science, which are not Nobel-eligible disciplines.”
Too bad, most of …
Too bad, most of the winners are from 1900 to 1980s….if you want to see who’s the best, MIT has more physics Nobel prize winners than anybody else in the past 10 years! This means MIT is now leading the world for physics not Cambridge.
great professor…. …
great professor…. very directive and easy to understand
actually it does …
actually it does work. The colors aren’t too vivid; but focus your eyes on the same location in space (i.e., don’t try to follow the same location on the disk as it rotates around), and radially, you’ll see slight brownish, slight greenish, and slight blueish, even on the video.
does it matter if …
