How do I get a teaching certificate to become a substitute teacher in K-8 in Lake Co, IL?

I graduated from Loyola with a BS degree in Biology and have been working. Now with small children at home I’d like to substitute teach. I don’t know what is required for an elementary education substitute teaching certificate in Lake County, IL. Does anyone have any suggestions and/or idea how long it would take or how expensive it would be to get started? Thank you.

Go to: http://www.lake.k12.il.us. Most school districts do not require substitute teachers to have certification, just pay more for certificated subs. Contact the school district for info on app process for substitutes.
