A common problem of the modern day lecturer and even with the LMS course creators is in how to teach a subject without losing the learner’s interest. A proven fact of increasing the brain’s capability of receiving knowledge is by using the memorization or the repetition method. The use of repetition helps the students in increasing their confidence as they become more comfortable taking the subject and actually learning it. However, be advised that the use repetition in teaching might be a tedious and boring approach but you can always use many way of making it seem fun.

The Pedagogy System

Using the pedagogy approach is very helpful as the students can talk about their past or present experiences in relation to the subject they are taking; it can also help them divert their attention to the subject for a show while. It will also allow the students to merge together complex subjects that are open enough to create different stories. It will give them a little breather from the intense topic you might have but have to be very basic that you can get them right back to the original topic.

In Climbing the Skill Ladder

As we get on with life, we begin to accumulate more and more pieces of information and continue to develop them to a higher level. This improvement in learning is brought about by repeating adsorbed knowledge and then taking them all in to your system. This progression in knowledge helps us in climbing the skill ladder. Adults and children have different inspirations in obtaining knowledge.

As for the children, it is simply to gain fame in class or to get good grades so parents can praise them. This is because we often want to receive a reward for a job well done. As adults however, we want to obtain knowledge because we want to be qualified in the job that we want to have. We do not take joy in the process of learning itself, but is in the joy of achieving something and hopefully taking it with us wherever we go in the journey of life.

The Role of Repetition

The repetition or restatement of an idea at intervals not only promotes clarity, but encourages the acceptance of an idea. When you repeat and emphasize one idea, competing ideas are subordinated and oftentimes driven completely out of the student’s mind. The use of examples, stories and repetition bring your lessons to life and make it even more enjoyable for your learners.

The LMS training courses aim to have successful learners as they get ahead in their lives. It is then important to use repetition to provide easy comprehension in the subject without having the learners lose interest in the topic. The Learning Management System presents repetition and practice in all courses to enhance the learner’s confidence as well as to make them more successful in climbing the skill ladder.

This video is an exploration of the definition of literacy: more specifically, of what it means to be a literate person in the 21st Century. Both producers are reflective practitioners who have strong literacy backgrounds. As practising teachers they have a vested interest in this subject. The producers realize that new media in a technological world is shaping the lives of youth and that as a result, redefining the literacy skills that will be necessary for youth to be able to function successfully in the world they are growing up in. The latter implies, by necessity, that the how, what and why of teaching literacy must also change. As a result of having the supposed static, print-centric notion of literacy upturned, the producers became interested in finding out if other educators at their worksites were experiencing this shift and in exploring how these educators were grappling with the notion of what it means to be a literate person and the corresponding implications in terms of their own teaching practise. Were they indeed rethinking what it means to be literate in an information and communication technological world, or upholding the traditional print-centric, paper and pencil viewpoint?

What Does it Mean to be Literate in the 21st Century? is an important and relevant issue that invites dialogue from all practising educators who work with youth. The world is changing and schools are required to make those changes necessary to help youth become fully competent, critical, and thoughtful citizens in the world they live in.
