I want to be a sound engineer and work my way up to a recording engineer or a producer but I don’t know what type of education I need at 15 years old as I go through high school. What education do I need in general. I’ve read electrical engineering comes in handy, but I’m not sure.

there isn’t really any education that you NEED in the industry. the music industry is more about who you know than schooling.

that being said there are a lot of things you can learn that will help you along the way. knowing electronics is good because gear breaks, and being able to fix it, or at least understand it works. this also gives you the option to create your own stuff. i’ve known people that have created their own pre-amps, and microphones because they know what they’re doing. communications classes are good because being an engineer you have to be able to communicate with people. you will have artists and producers that will tell you that they want the guitar to be more "crunchy" or the hat needs more "shine". you have to be able to know what they mean when they say that. a lot of stuff like that just comes down to being familiar with a lot of different types of music, and how its recorded. business is always good especially now in recording. many engineers are losing jobs because of how easy it is to record at home. knowing the business side you may help keep a studio alive, or start your own indpendent freelance studio.

like i said, education really doesn’t matter. you can pay thousands of dollars going to school and learning how to do the stuff, or you can research and do it yourself.

the most important things i would study as far as the actual engineering is the processing type sides of it. by this i mean learn how EQ, reverb, compression, delay, etc are and how it works. understanding how things like that work and the theory behind it will help you understand how to apply it on a session.

one thing that would be good to get used to (especially at your age) is to study the sounds of music. by this i basically mean, listen to a lot of music. but don’t just listen to it. you have to hear it and understand it. listen to the overall mix of the music. where is the guitar? is it panned to the left? right? if so, why? listen to music like it’s a picture. listen to all genres to understand how the snare sounds in a metal song compared to a pop or country song. listen to bands you don’t like and study the music. it sucks listening to crap, but it will help you learn more. this is highly important when it comes to mixing a record. some people think it’s just about turning up and down each instrument until it all sounds right. but there is soooooooo much more to it.

as a final note, i want to stress that it is very tough to make it in the music industry. engineering is the same situation. if you do study and get a degree, get something that will give you options of the music industry doesn’t work out. i would start recording stuff as soon as possible. if you can record a lot of stuff and get good at it by the time you graduate, you may be able to go get an internship at a studio without spending a lot of money for school.

good luck

Education is one of the most valuable gifts that has been given to society. It is more than just a passing on, or teaching, of what we know to others. Education also passes on the culture of a society. Patterns of behavior, ideas, and values that distinguish unique groups from one another are also passed on. Education is designed to make use of the knowledge, ideas, and values that are passed on to make wise decisions through one’s life. New thoughts and ideas can then arise by combining the existing information in a new way, continuing the cycle of education.

Education of children is extremely important to the continued health of a society. Knowing this, many governments have set up a schooling system in which a standardized series of instruction can be presented to students. Teaching is the primary form of instructing students, using lectures, work sessions, and reading material. Specific skills and knowledge are passed on to students at certain ages, allowing students to understand and gain deeper meaning from the knowledge they are receiving.

There are multiple levels within the public education system. Primary education deals with fundamental topics, such as reading and writing, with mathematics, science, and history mixed in. Once a solid foundation has been obtained, Secondary education begins and the student learns more specialized skills. The years in between Primary and Secondary education may involve a separate school called a Middle school. This is still considered Primary education, but students are separated more from younger students in order to prepare them for the move to Secondary education. In the United States, Primary and Secondary education are required of all citizens in order to be a functioning member of society.

Rochester, Minnesota is home to a vast number of schools contained in the public education system that are dedicated to providing a solid foundation to students. Primary, Secondary, and Middle schools are spread throughout the city, offering the chance of an education to virtually anyone.

Primary schools make up the majority of the buildings in the school system. These schools include:

- Bamber Valley Elementary (K-5) – One of the larger elementary schools, with a dedicated staff and motivated students. The result is parental and community support that challenges the school to have high expectations and levels of achievement.

- Bishop Elementary (K-5) – Housing 500 students in Early Childhood Special Education from K-5, Bishop is proud of its dedication to students and the resulting standardized test scores.

- Churchill Elementary and Hoover Elementary (K-5) – A paired set of buildings that serves one student population. Education is focused on maximizing academic and social-emotional growth for all students.

- Elton Hills Elementary (K-5) – Focused on educating for tomorrow’s challenges, staff emphasize academic excellence in reading, writing, and math skills. Students are grouped in multi-aged classrooms based on their needs.

- Folwell Elementary (K-5) – Gifted and Talented and English for Speakers of Other Languages programs are strong here, strengthening the academic atmosphere. Active and supportive PTSA and an emphasis on Volunteers in Education are also strong points.

- Franklin Elementary/Montessori at Franklin (K-5) – Offers a K-5 Neighborhood program, and a K-5, District-wide, Public Montessori Choice program. The Franklin school offers quality education with a number of specialized academic support groups. The Montessori option includes three multi-age groups/levels of classes to develop students’ skills. Inter-relatedness is one of the main focuses of the curriculum.

- Gage/Gage East Elementary (K-5) – Individuality of each child is respected in the diverse population that makes up Gage Elementary. Strong reading, writing, and math programs are emphasized, and input from parents and volunteers is strongly encouraged.

- Jefferson Elementary (K-5) – The staff focuses on instilling the love of learning in students, helping them to become more prepared for the future as lifelong learners. The Read At Home program is offered as a home/school connection that increases student reading.

- Lincoln Choice (K-8) – The only K-8 school in the public school system, Lincoln supports the success of each student by giving and expecting respect for others and responsibility for themselves. teaching methods focus on individual learning styles, and multi-age classrooms help accomplish this task.

- Longfellow Elementary (K-5) – While keeping the same academic standards, the calendar is made up of 45 days of concentrated instruction and learning, followed by a 15-day break period.

- Pinewood Elementary (K-5) – A traditional approach to curriculum with self-contained classrooms is used here, offering character development, classroom stability, and a positive atmosphere.

- Riverside Central Elementary (K-5) – Riverside’s mission is to have staff, students, families, and community word collaboratively to create a community that values education of all children, promoting the attitude of lifelong learning.

- Sunset Terrace Elementary (K-5) – Offers a wide variety of educational and leadership opportunities while still encouraging the growth of the whole child. A number of academic support programs are available to help those in need.

- Washington Elementary (K-5) – A school with a reputation for educational excellence, Washington, offers a challenging, Core Knowledge® curriculum. Fifty percent of the content involves Core Knowledge content, while the other 50 percent is mastery of reading, writing, math, and other skills.

The Middle schools found in Rochester all offer a strong focus on academics while giving students a chance to explore their own individual interests. A safe and welcoming environment is present at all schools, respecting students as individuals and quality and challenging education. The four Middle schools include:

- Friedell Middle School (6-8)
- John Adams Middle School (6-8)
- Kellogg Middle School (6-8)
- Willow Creek Middle School (6-8)

Secondary schools also offer challenging and quality education to the youth of Rochester. There are three public high schools throughout the city:

- Century High School (9-12) – The staff have created a culture that has high expectations, communication, trust, and caring at its core. The school works hard to effectively prepare students for life after graduation.

- John Marshall High School (9-12) – John Marshall values diversity and has been serving the community for more than forty years. Many proud traditions and accomplishments exist, including a curriculum that meets the needs of students looking at post-secondary schools as well as those planning to go straight to the work force.

- Mayo High School (9-12) – Also in existence for over forty years, Mayo is designed to meet the needs and challenges of every student. Advanced Placement courses are offered in math, science, and English, as well as a number of honors courses in most departments.

Education is a tool and gift that every person in society should have access to. The presence of a public education system provides a chance to receive that gift. Those that have received it have an obligation to pass on the gift to others, continuing the growth and health of a community and a culture. Education starts from the moment we are born, and with proper teaching and training, can continue with excitement and wonder until this life is over. Become a lifelong learner, while instilling the drive and motivation into others to do the same. Education is a gift that should not be wasted.

What really works in character education? What techniques teacher should adopt to teach character education? These are couple of questions that most teachers and parents ask when they start to teach the Character Education. Most children are very non serious in the attitude, their behaviour and the treatment to others.Over the past few decades, educators have become increasingly interested in implementing character education in their districts, schools, and classrooms, and the pace of this expansion seems to be accelerating. There is a rapidly growing, but still quite inadequate, level of funding available for both practice and research in character education. There are also a bewildering variety of programs, vendors, consultants, and concepts for educators to choose from in their search to improve their schools and positively impact the development and learning of their students.

Following are some ideas which can be given to the students for building their character. First, Appreciation is the most powerful weapon. Many times middle school students do not realize how great efforts from their parents, teachers, friends and family have affected them. As an activity, students needed to first decide on one person who they see as a positive role model. Second, Special thank you notes. Let some very special people know how much you appreciate them! This is a writing activity that can fit in at any time of year. Character education is all about teaching young people how to make responsible choices and helping them to develop the internal controls necessary to make those choices. As such, character education must do more than impart information, it must also inspire and strengthen students to act nobly—even when every inducement conspires to encourage them to act otherwise. This is the point at which character is manifest, for in these circumstances, if the will to act nobly does not exist within, it does not exist at all.

The Persians who taught virtue as a liberal art or science in their public schools, declared that the ability to govern one’s passions in spite of temptation, to be just in one’s dealings, and to be temperate in one’s pleasures were qualities of far more real advantage to a person than being “master of all the arts and sciences in the world besides.” Character education is far easier to implement when the lessons are easy to slide into your daily routine and are mutually supportive of the academic concepts you are teaching. The stories and activities in The Seven C’s of Thinking Clearly are truly teacher friendly. Schools often have character education programs that focus on the qualities of character that are honored by most cultures and traditions. Character education is the development of knowledge, skills, and abilities that encourage children and young adults to make informed and responsible choices. Ethics are a philosophical reflection of moral beliefs and practices. The Greek and Roman philosophers were particularly interested in discussions related to ethics. Religions and faiths each have their own ethical systems to guide their people. Ethical decision making involves the process of making informed decisions when faced with difficult dilemmas with many alternative solutions.

The School which are interested in implementing character education programs. Must follow the safety programs that are implement by some schools. These effective school safety programs include a balance of strategies focused on school climate, firm and fair discipline, prevention and intervention programs, strong academic and extracurricular programs, community involvement, proactive security measures, and crisis preparedness guidelines. Character education issues can clearly play a role in enhancing the school climate component of overall comprehensive safe schools plans.

In the modern education, The character counts programs hold SIX pillars of Character:

1. Trustworthiness

2. Respect

3. Responsibility

4. Fairness

5. Caring

6. Citizenship

Education is the most important for all and is one such asset of human that pays for life time and leads to over all development of a person. There are many children who aspire to get quality education. It’s not feasible for many to get what they desire. But to allow student enjoy uninterrupted and quality education, education loans have been designed that provide quick financial services to all those who need. Now you can easily over come financial constraints and meet your educational needs.

You can entail educational loans in two forms secured and unsecured. Secured education loans can be obtained by pledging your valuable asset as security. You can offer to pledge your property, car, shares and valuable documents. The loan amount offered is substantial and depends on the value of collateral. In case you are unable to provide collateral or don’t wish to pledge your asset then you can apply for unsecured education loans. These loans are not backed by security and you can entail a small loan amount depending on your needs.

The loan amount for education loan depends on the course that you are applying for. Education loans are provided lower and affordable rates so that later it doesn’t become a financial burden on students. You can pursue graduate, post graduate and professional courses.

Students can repay the loan easily as they have to repay only after the completion of the course. Moreover, some lenders give a repayment break of 6-9 months so that students can search for a suitable job and you can start the repayment after getting the job.

To save a great of time you can apply online. Just fill a simple form and the processing will start immediately. You can search for lower and lucrative deals easily that suit your requirements.

Worried about your blemished credit history? There is no need because education loans are open to all. Bad credit holders facing CCJs, defaults, late payments, arrears, bankruptcy and missed payments can easily apply for these loans.

The existence of the Canada distance education database is as a result of the combined efforts between the Canadian Association for University Continuing Education (CAUCE) and the Ontario Council for University Lifelong Learning (OCULL).

As you may be able to tell by the names of these groups, the database was set up for those that already have a degree, but need or want continuing education credits.

If you are interested in Canadian distance learning and you do not currently have a degree, there are many institutions that offer online college courses.

Additional examinations may be required depending on the field that you plan to go into. However, if you want to improve your earning potential, in less time than you may have thought possible, then a distance education online degree is the first place to start.

What type of fields can you get into with Canada distance education? Several courses are available on their online distance education websites. Online university programs are particularly of high value to American and Canadian citizens that are temporarily outside of North America.

Whilst credits received from an online college are sometimes not transferable to other schools, it is highly probable that your credits will be accepted, should you decide to go to a conventional university in the future.

The fields that are available for Canadian distance education include business management, criminal justice, security, culinary arts, education, computer sciences, liberal arts, communication, health, psychology, real estate, web design and many others. One, two and four year programs are available. Basically, the sky is the limit to what you can learn.

There are many reasons why people choose Canadian distance education. You might have a full-time job that prevents you from attending regularly scheduled classes. You might have a family that needs your attention. Online courses simplify the whole matter. You learn at your own pace, when it is convenient for you.

In case you need convincing, there are many reasons to go back to school. You have taken the first step by searching for Canada distance education. Now, it is time to commit. Why?

The current state of the world economy is “rough”. Those people with degrees will be able to find and hold jobs, through these difficult times. A Canadian distance education program can allow you to compete, without interfering with what you already have.

Recent reports suggest that particular degrees will be in increasing demand in the foreseeable future. Health care degrees are number one on everyone’s list of “best choices”, largely because of increasingly high numbers of elderly people. Canada distance education could allow you to find a satisfying healthcare career.

If you aren’t “into” health care, there are several other popular programs such as Finance and Information technology, that are also available. A Canadian distance education degree in an IT field will allow you to qualify for those jobs, when they are available. Right now, there are plenty of them.

The tuition fees of Canada distance education schools is comparable to that of traditional universities. In some instances, the costs are less. Colleges need students, as much as you need an education. Don’t put it off. Apply now.
