what are the important contributions of educational technology?

The important contributions of educational technology are the way people communicate with each other. If you have not already done so watch the movie "Pirates of Silicone Valley" the history of Apple and Microsoft.

What should a teacher do when students keep talking out of turn in her classroom?

This is a middle school classroom. The students do not raise their hand to answer/ask questions. She just keeps reminding them you need to raise your hand and does not call on them until they do so or ignores them. What’s a better techinique so she does not have to keep taking time out of the class period to remind them? This is a special education classroom. Also what could she do if a student keeps whining instead of just ignoring his behavior or lecturing him.

For the kids not raising their hands- One idea is she could praise the students that do raise their hands (i there are any). Or another idea is she could have some kind of system that gives consequences to those students that call out without interrupting class, like if a student calls out then she takes points off of his/her participation grade.

For the student that whines, the teacher could separate him/her rom the rest of the class (like a time-out) and then after the student has calmed down, go talk to the student about what he/she did wrong.

Some technology and processes that are likely to impact on the horse industry workplace?

What are some technology and processes that are likely to impact on the horse industry workplace?

Need the answer as soon as possoble thanks!
Sarah.

Right now, the industry seems to be focused on different racetrack surfaces besides traditional turf and dirt.

This has caused a great deal of controversy among horsemen, and the jury is still out as to if surfaces such as

•Polytrack
•Cushion Track
•Tapeta Footings
•Equitrack

Are indeed safer for horses or not, some folks believe they are but on the other hand some horsemen continue to prefer a traditional dirt surface.

Other than surfaces, betting technology has been a bit different than in the past. Years ago, one could only wager on their own local track and through a human teller. Now there are self betting machines, simulcasting from tracks around the country and the world, internet wagering, simulcast outlets and casinos like in Vegas or Atlantic City that have wagering rooms.

Also, many racetracks are lowering the minimum bet. For many years, the minimum was always $2. However, in most pools in New York you can wager $1 to win also many racetracks now have a ten cent superfecta, and Retama Park in Texas offers ten cent trifecta wagering as well. These lower base bets are viewed as more appealing and advantageous to most professional players because they can beat the witholding tax on big wins by purchasing multiple .10 tickets as opposed to one $1 or $2 base ticket.

Is it true that the original teaching of Judaism forbids / prohibits the eating of pork?

Pork was considered unclean in the Old Testament. Jesus never ate pork. He did not tell others to eat it. Peter as the senior apostle received revelation telling him that it was acceptable to discard the kosher laws. He also received instructions regarding circumcision and hospitality to gentiles

What are some strategies you can use to mentally solve this expression?

What is an example of a calculation using one operation (addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division) that cannot be easily computed mentally? What are some strategies you can use to mentally solve this expression? Which mathematical properties does your strategy require?

square roots are alot like women. if they’re…

oh…wait…just one operation. let’s see…

i have a difficult time squaring (multiplying) a million by a million. the strategy is to use exponents but when i put all those zeroes in the answer…it’s difficult to comprehend mentally.

Also…any situation involving a formula, ‘work’ for example. how to figure work. the strategy: 1) know the formula (i.e. work = force * distance [physics] or work = rate * time [business]) and 2) use dimensional analysis to solve and check the answer (i.e. work units might be letters so the rate would be letters per time and the time units = minutes)

last thought…never use an answer without reflecting upon the feasibility of it. i mean…does it really make sense that a baseball pitcher hurls a slider at 217 mph? probably not.

Well…

Good luck.
