What are some tactics and strategies used by the United States to hunt down terrorist in Afghanistan?

Im looking for specific strategies such as house to house searches or spy satellites. Not sure if thats is something the US uses its just an example. the more information the better. Also if you know of any good websites that contain such information that would be very helpful.

Spy satellites and unmanned aerial vehicles can only give you so much intel. That’s why human intelligence is still the top priority. Human intelligence gave us Saddam, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, and plenty others (including the dude that looked like Ron Jeremy–can’t remember his name tho).

The most effective way of finding the terrorists is to rely on the people to tell you what’s going on. The way the US is doing that is by rebuilding the country, ensuring safe passage for civilians through the country, and giving them equipment and training for jobs to support their families.

What does professional development mean to English Language Teachers working in the United Arab Emirates?

I’m looking for views of ELT/EFL/ESL teachers on whatthey think about professional development and some of the ways that they engage in institutional and external professioanl development.

One great source of professional development over here in Asia is through the regular workshops the big named ESL text book publishers put on for our ESL teachers.

We often get free invites for our teachers to join one or two-day workshops held at nice hotels, with light refreshments, and if we’re really lucky, they throw in lunch as well. Lots of freebies, i.e. posters, pens, calenders and text books. The main two ESL publishers often use their popular text book authors to give presentations.

We also have to endure the local government education office’s efforts to put together some sort of seminar/workshop type event about once a year. Boring!

If you are looking to organize local ESL professional development, I would strongly advise you to get in touch with your main supplier of English language text books. They will have a rep. in your area for sure.

Hope this helps.

What is the literacy term for answering your own question?

In writing a literacy narrative, you can a pose a question to the readers then answer for effect. I can’t seem to find the name of this term, nor any websites with it.
Rhetorical is when you ask a question with no answer, this word is when you ask a question then answer it. It’s a more advance college word.
The answer is:

Hypophora

rhe·tor·i·cal

1 a: of, relating to, or concerned with rhetoric b: employed for rhetorical effect; especially :
asked merely for effect with no answer expected
<a rhetorical question>
2 a: given to rhetoric : grandiloquent b: verbal
— rhe·tor·i·cal·ly \-i-k(ə-)lē\ adverb

Should sex education be a manditory class in high schools throughout the United Sates?

Do you think sex education should be a manditory class in High schools across America? Why or Why not? Could this possibly prevent accidental pregnancy and help the economy?

As a teenager in high school myself, i do indeed believe that sexual education should be a mandatory course in health or physical education classes. As someone who does not believe in sex before marriage, i know that others do, and many of my friends are not virgins, and i know some girls in my school are either pregnant, or have had an abortion. If they knew better and were educated more clearly, it could help prevent this. We were not offered sex-ed up until this year and I do know some girls who have stopped being sexual active with their boyfriends because now they know the cold hard facts. So all in all, i do think that sexual education should be in all school across america.
